JAMB Commences 2026 Direct Entry Registration Nationwide

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially begun the sale of application documents for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) programme, opening the door for qualified candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions via direct entry routes.

According to an official announcement from JAMB on its verified X account, the registration exercise commenced on Monday, March 2, 2026, and will run until Saturday, April 25, 2026. This provides prospective applicants with nearly two months to complete the process.

The Board emphasized that the sale of Direct Entry application documents and e-PIN vending is restricted exclusively to JAMB State and Zonal Offices across the country. Prospective candidates are advised to visit these offices for registration and avoid unauthorized centres to prevent fraud or complications.

JAMB's statement read: “2026 Direct Entry Registration: This is to inform the prospective DE applicants that sale of application document has commenced today Monday, 2nd March 2026 and will end by Saturday, 25th April 2026.

Please, note that this service can be accessed only at our offices nationwide.”Direct Entry is designed for candidates with relevant qualifications beyond the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or equivalent, such as National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), Cambridge A-Levels, or other approved advanced-level certificates, allowing them to gain admission directly into the 200-level or higher.

This announcement follows the recent closure of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration on February 28, 2026, marking the separation of timelines for UTME and Direct Entry processes.

Candidates interested in Direct Entry are urged to act promptly, visit the nearest JAMB office with required credentials, and stay updated via official JAMB channels for any further guidelines or changes.
