Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved the immediate sack of six political appointees and the suspension of one senior official as part of ongoing efforts to reposition his administration for improved efficiency and better service delivery to the people of Plateau State.
The decision was announced on Tuesday, March 18, 2026, by Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), in an official statement issued in Jos.
The sacked appointees include:
Timothy Golu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication
Fom Gwottson, Liaison Officer for Jos South
Nanbol Rimvyat and Nannim Langyi, Liaison Officers for Langtang North
Paul Datugum, Liaison Officer for Qua’an Pan
Nimchat Rims, Liaison Officer for Langtang South
Additionally, Johnbull Shekarau, Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, has been suspended over alleged conduct unbecoming of his office.
While no specific reasons were provided for the sackings in the statement, the SSG emphasized that the actions align with the government's commitment to enhancing governance standards.
The affected officials have been directed to immediately hand over all government properties in their possession to the relevant authorities.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the contributions made by the sacked and suspended individuals during their time in office and wished them success in their future endeavors.
This development comes amid the governor's broader push for administrative reforms in the state.
