Governor Mai Mala Buni has officially flagged off the Federal Government's Presidential Emergency Food and Nutrition Support program in Damaturu.
The initiative, launched during the holy month of Ramadan, aims to deliver essential nutritional aid to over 40,000 vulnerable individuals, including internally displaced persons and low-income households facing hardship and food insecurity.
Governor Buni expressed sincere thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his compassionate and timely leadership in supporting vulnerable Nigerians. He also commended Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, for his dedicated coordination of the program.
The governor further appreciated the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) for its strong collaboration, which aligns with and bolsters his administration's ongoing humanitarian efforts to reduce suffering, build resilience, and reach needy households across Yobe State.
Each beneficiary package includes:
1 bag of rice
1 bag of beans
1 bag of millet
Vegetable oil
Palm oil
Seasonings
Salt
Tomato paste
In addition, essential medical consumables will be provided to three selected health facilities to support nutrition and health needs among the target population.
