President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, joined by Vice President Kashim Shettima, hosted state governors to an interfaith Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) at the Presidential Villa on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The event, which commenced shortly after 6:30 p.m., marked the third consecutive year the President has convened Nigeria’s governors for the symbolic iftar gathering at Aso Rock.
Governors in attendance included Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Mohammed Bago (Niger), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), and Agbu Kefas (Taraba).
Also present were Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila and several members of the Federal Executive Council.
The Iftar is one of President Tinubu’s annual Ramadan engagements, during which he traditionally hosts a cross-section of political office holders, senior government officials, traditional rulers, organised private sector leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps to foster unity and shared reflection during the holy month.
