A coalition of youths from Kogi State has presented ₦100 million to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cover the cost of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The donation was handed over on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
The delegation was led by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and received by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
Governor Ododo described the contribution as a grassroots demonstration of support for President Tinubu’s leadership, reforms in infrastructure, security, and the economy, and his vision for continued national development.
He emphasized that the gesture from Kogi youths signals strong confidence in the President and readiness to back his re-election bid.
“This donation shows the belief of our young people in President Tinubu’s agenda and their commitment to his continued leadership,” Ododo said.In response, Chairman Yilwatda hailed the move as patriotic, unprecedented, and a sign of rising political awareness among Nigerian youths.
He noted that the funds had been deposited into the party’s account and declared that no further donations or efforts were needed to secure the President’s nomination forms.
“The youths are not asking for favors this is pure patriotism. With this, the form is covered; no one else needs to bother,” Yilwatda stated, expressing delight that Kogi youths were the first to deliver actual funds amid verbal pledges from others.
The youths explained that the ₦100 million was raised through community contributions and fundraising, driven by enthusiasm for Tinubu’s achievements and the desire to see his reforms consolidated in a second term.
The APC leadership thanked the group and reaffirmed its dedication to youth inclusion and inclusive governance.
