In a remarkable act of interfaith goodwill, the Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, has distributed essential food items, including bags of rice, maize, and other grains to Muslims, Tsangaya (Quranic) schools, and some internally displaced persons as the 2026 Ramadan fast commences.
The donation, spearheaded by the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Yohanna Buru, was carried out at the Kano Road Central Mosque in Kaduna.
Pastor Buru stated that the gesture is intended to foster peace, promote unity, and strengthen inter-religious harmony across the state and the wider northern region.
This initiative is part of a long-standing tradition: for nearly 20 years, the ministry has consistently provided food support to underprivileged Muslims and Tsangaya schools in five northern states, helping to alleviate the hardships faced during the 30-day period of fasting.
Community leaders, representatives from the Tsangaya schools, and beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude, describing the act as a shining example of compassion that transcends religious boundaries and urged others to emulate such kindness.
