Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram (BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Sambisa Forest and Mandara Mountains during combat operations on January 22, 2026.

In a separate clash near Malkube, troops eliminated two more terrorists and seized arms, ammunition, and communication equipment, with no casualties sustained by friendly forces.
Another unit repelled terrorists attempting to infiltrate from Cameroon near Galakura, forcing them to retreat and abandon motorcycles and supplies.Operations continue across the North East theatre, with troops maintaining high morale and combat effectiveness.
The command urged the public to provide credible intelligence on terrorist locations and movements to support ongoing efforts.
These engagements represent a major setback for BH/ISWAP leadership and supply networks in their key strongholds, reinforcing progress in restoring security to the region.
