Barau Begins Cash Support Disbursement for Vulnerable Persons in Kano Central

The disbursement of N20,000 cash support to vulnerable individuals has officially commenced in Kano Central Senatorial District, according to Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate.

In a public announcement, Senator Barau stated that the initiative, aimed at providing direct relief to the most vulnerable members of the community, is now underway across the district.

The program is being executed through the Barau I. Jibrin Foundation (BIJF) as part of broader empowerment efforts.

Key aides present at the launch event included Chief of Staff Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, Special Adviser on Policy and Monitoring Professor Bashir Muhammad Fagge, Special Adviser on Women Hajiya Yardada Maikano Bichi, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Hon. Shitu Madaki Kunchi, and Special Assistant on Youth and Students Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, among others.

A total of 1,725 vulnerable persons across the 15 Local Government Areas in Kano Central will benefit from this phase, with 112 carefully selected beneficiaries per LGA to ensure fairness, transparency, and grassroots impact.

The exercise follows the successful completion of similar disbursements in Kano North Senatorial District.

The program is scheduled to proceed to Kano South Senatorial District tomorrow.

Senator Barau described the N20,000 cash support as one element of a larger, sustained empowerment agenda.

He pledged to continue rolling out various initiatives to improve livelihoods, alleviate hardship, and enhance the well-being of constituents, with particular focus on women, youth, and less-privileged groups across Kano State.
