Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced the closure of the Oluremi @65 Education Fund, which successfully raised a total of N25,520,708,074.35 in donations to support education initiatives and the completion of the National Library headquarters in Abuja.
The fund, launched to commemorate her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025, saw an outpouring of support from Nigerians, family, friends, and well-wishers.
In a statement of appreciation, Senator Tinubu expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the initiative as a testament to the nation's shared commitment to education and knowledge preservation.
“I extend my sincere appreciation to all Nigerians, family, friends, and well-wishers who generously supported the Oluremi @65
Education Fund,” she said.
“Your support affirms our collective belief in the transformative power of education and its central role in building a strong and prosperous nation.”
She emphasized that the overwhelming response went beyond financial contributions, fostering goodwill, unity, and a collective sense of purpose among Nigerians eager to advance learning and intellectual growth.
The donation account officially closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Future contributions toward the National Library project are to be directed through the Federal Ministry of Education, which supervises the initiative.
Senator Tinubu described the N25.52 billion milestone as a significant investment in Nigeria's future, poised to leave a lasting legacy for generations.
