Akpabio Reaffirms Senate’s Commitment to National Stability in 2026

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared 2026 a year of renewed hope and steady progress for Nigeria, emphasizing that advancements will be driven by strong institutions, diligent legislation, and unified national effort.

In his New Year's address, Akpabio praised the enduring resilience of Nigerians amid ongoing challenges and highlighted the pivotal role of the National Assembly especially the Senate in upholding democratic stability, ensuring accountability, and pushing forward the country's development priorities.

He stressed that while the Executive branch focuses on policy execution, the National Assembly remains steadfast in fulfilling its constitutional duties of lawmaking, public representation, and oversight to align governance with citizens' demands for unity, economic recovery, and social equity.

With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, Akpabio called for vigilance against divisive tactics and misleading claims of personal saviorism among politicians.

He appealed to political leaders to exercise restraint and encouraged all Nigerians to rally behind democratic processes, fostering peace, fairness, and collective advancement.

Akpabio extended heartfelt wishes for a prosperous and peaceful 2026 to citizens nationwide.
