Former Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President and founder of Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, is under fire on social media after an old video resurfaced showing him seeking $5,000 donations from 90 people in exchange for "anointed mantles."
In the clip, Oritsejafor tells the congregation that contributing the amount would ensure they "do not miss God."
The video, recorded during a 2019 guest appearance at a U.S. church linked to the late evangelist Morris Cerullo, has reignited debates about prosperity preaching and financial appeals in ministries.
Online critics have accused the pastor of exploiting faith, with many questioning the idea of buying spiritual items or blessings.
Some users noted the appeal reportedly received no takers in the original setting.
The renewed controversy highlights ongoing scrutiny of similar practices in Pentecostal circles.
Pastor Oritsejafor has not issued a new statement on the recirculated video.
In past responses to similar claims, he maintained that such items were offered freely to supporters of ministry work, not sold.

Quite shameful! These men are all criminals and only represent some god or deity that they alone have good knowledge of. With the sole purpose of selfishly enriching themselves. I'm still in awe why our society have not begun to make these churches tax liable for every single monies that the church receives home and abroad. In my view these are business houses and nothing about they is non-profit
