Mozambique midfielder Alfons Amade has said Monday’s round of 16 clash at the ongoing 2025 AFCON is their best chance to beat Nigeria.
Amade talked about the game and highlighted how strong the Nigerian team is as a group.
“I think Nigeria has always been a country with strong players and I believe there aren’t just one or two players we need to be concerned about,” he told reporters ahead of the game.
“I believe we need to focus on the entire game of Nigeria and how we play our own style to compete against them.”
He said that Mozambique’s goal in the game is to win by working together and staying focused on their strategy.
“I think this is our best chance to win against them [Nigeria] because this is what we’re aiming for at the end of the game tournament, and we have to win.
“Focusing only on a few players won’t work for us.
“We want to win at the end, whether it’s during the 90 minutes, in overtime, or if it goes to penalties.
“This is what we’re focusing on, and of course we’re getting inspiration from it,” he added.
