Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, says the allies of Venezuela left its leadership isolated, exposed, and alone in the hands of its adversaries.
In a post via his official X handle on Saturday, Ahmad said
this is how the world actually works, stressing that alliances are performative
while power stands unchallenged.
He was reacting to the arrest of Venezuela’s President,
Nicolas Maduro and his wife by the United States’ forces on Saturday.
Recall that President Donald Trump announced the capture of
Maduro and his wife.
“Venezuela’s so-called allies ultimately left its leadership
isolated, exposed and alone in the hands of its adversaries.
“What happened in Venezuela highlights one uncomfortable
truth in global politics, this is why even leaders of other nations continue to
fear, defer to or quietly submit to the United States.
“They have simply no real match; not China, not Iran, not
Russia and not even all of them combined when it comes to decisive power
projection.
“Even when they are vocally opposed, they rarely attempt,
let alone succeed, in stopping the US from carrying out a mission it has
resolved to undertake,” Ahmad wrote.
