Dr. Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, has vehemently denied paternity claims made by a woman identifying herself as Ms. Chi Okafor and has demanded that she submit to an immediate DNA test to substantiate her allegations.
Through his lawyer, Maxwell Opara, Pastor Okafor addressed journalists at a press conference in Owerri on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, describing the woman's online publications as false, defamatory, and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
The cleric insisted that Ms. Chi Okafor and her sibling are not his biological children, asserting that they are products of infidelity by his estranged wife.
He categorically rejected accusations of abandoning any spouse or children.Barrister Opara labelled the claims as acts of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, criminal defamation, and malicious impersonation, warning of legal action if the demands are not met.
Key demands issued to Ms. Chi Okafor include:
Immediate retraction of all statements alleging paternity or abandonment, published in two national newspapers.
A public apology for the alleged falsehoods.
Cessation of any implication of a familial relationship with Pastor Okafor.
Removal of all related online content.
Submission, along with her sibling, to a DNA test at a mutually agreed reputable facility.
The lawyer emphasised: "Any assertion suggesting that our client abandoned a spouse or children is false, misleading, defamatory, and constitutes cyberbullying."
Pastor Okafor also issued warnings to social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse (known as VeryDarkMan), actress Doris Ogala, and others allegedly amplifying the claims, urging them to stop propagating the alleged falsehoods.
Failure to comply, the statement noted, will prompt the pastor to pursue all legal remedies to protect his reputation, integrity, and ministry.
