Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has officially flagged off the nationwide electronic membership registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his polling unit in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area.
The governor personally registered alongside his family members at Motor Park II Polling Unit in his hometown on Wednesday, December 25, 2025, demonstrating active participation in party activities.
Speaking after the registration, Governor Sule urged residents of Gudi and Nasarawa State to participate massively in the e-registration, emphasising that political involvement is key to attracting development to communities. He cited ongoing projects in Gudi as evidence of benefits derived from active political engagement.
Sule expressed gratitude to the APC leadership at national and state levels for their commitment to the party's vision and prompt implementation of directives.
He recalled that the decision to commence the e-registration was taken during the party's caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings in Abuja the previous week, attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The governor noted with appreciation that Nasarawa State APC had swiftly complied, having already unanimously adopted consensus arrangements for upcoming ward, local government, zonal, and state congresses.
Highlighting the significance of the exercise, Sule described the e-registration as a localised activity conducted at polling units to replace the outdated manual system.
He also encouraged citizens to take advantage of the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to update details or transfer polling units for easier voting.
Earlier, State APC Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello commended Governor Sule for his unwavering support both financial and moral and for aligning fully with the party's initiatives.
Bello explained that only individuals with valid voter cards are eligible for the e-registration, a measure aimed at boosting voter turnout.
He lamented that despite over 60 million registered members nationwide in previous exercises, only about 15 million voted in recent general elections.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Nasarawa and Akwanga LGA Chairman, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, praised Governor Sule's leadership style for strengthening the APC and expanding its influence into former opposition strongholds across the state.
