Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State and National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed deep condolences over the tragic passing of two members of the Kano State House of Assembly who died hours apart on December 24, 2025.
The deceased lawmakers are Hon. Aminu Sa'adu Ungogo, representing Ungogo Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, representing Kano Municipal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Pilgrims.
The deaths, occurring within a short interval, have plunged the Kano State House of Assembly into mourning on Christmas Eve.Kwankwaso joined prominent figures, including Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, in extending sympathies to the bereaved families, constituents, and the people of Kano State.
The sudden losses have been described as a profound shock, underscoring the significant contributions of the legislators to public service and grassroots representation. Both lawmakers were buried according to Islamic rites.
