Gov Otti Meets Tinubu After Visiting Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto Prison

Abia State Governor Alex Otti on Tuesday met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, shortly after visiting Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Sokoto Correctional Centre.

Otti arrived at the Presidential Villa around midday, following Tinubu's meeting with the service chiefs, sources told TheCable.

While the details of the closed-door discussion remain undisclosed, insiders suggest it may be linked to ongoing efforts to secure Kanu's release, amid his conviction on terrorism charges.

During the prison visit, Otti urged Kanu to stay resilient, according to Ferdinand Ekeoma, the governor's special adviser on media and publicity.

Ekeoma quoted Otti as saying he had intensified political and diplomatic engagements initiated over two years ago to facilitate the IPOB leader's freedom.
