The Nigerian Senate will on Wednesday screen President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd).
In a statement issued by the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the upper chamber confirmed it has received the President’s formal request for the confirmation of the nominee.
The letter from President Tinubu is scheduled to be read on the floor during Wednesday’s plenary, after which the screening of General Musa will commence immediately.
Senator Bamidele emphasised that the Senate cannot afford any delay in processing the nomination, describing it as a matter that “touches the core national interest” at this critical time.
