The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects accused of kidnapping and issuing threats in the Sarau Belel community of Maiha Local Government Area.
Police spokesman SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje announced the arrests in a statement issued on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Yola.
The operation followed a complaint lodged on December 26 by Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village in Sarau Belel, who reported receiving threats of abduction from the suspects.
The individuals allegedly boasted of being responsible for the kidnapping of Daniel's younger brother, Joshua Daniel, who went missing in November 2024.
Upon receiving the report, Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris promptly directed the Divisional Police Officer in Sarau Belel and divisional operatives to launch a swift coordinated operation, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects: Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38, both residents of Konjoli Village in Maiha LGA.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crimes and are providing valuable information to aid further investigations.CP Morris has transferred the case to the Command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit for in-depth probing and ensured diligent prosecution.
The police command reiterated its dedication to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State and called on residents to continue sharing timely, credible intelligence to support security efforts.
