The Federal Government of Nigeria has deployed four highly skilled volunteers to Sierra Leone under the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) scheme, reinforcing its commitment to fostering South-South cooperation.
The team, formally handed over in a recent ceremony, includes two Professors, a PhD holder, and a Master’s degree holder, with expertise spanning law, medicine, and science.
According to Kimiebi Ebienfa, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the deployment fulfills President Bola Tinubu’s pledge to strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties with African nations and the Caribbean.
The volunteers will be integrated into Sierra Leone’s institutions, where they will contribute to human capacity and capital development, supporting the country’s growth objectives.
The Nigerian government expressed gratitude to Sierra Leone for its warm reception of the volunteers, emphasizing the initiative as a testament to Nigeria’s belief in collective prosperity and a shared African destiny.
The Ministry reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to exploring new avenues for international cooperation to promote mutual development and regional progress.
