A man who went viral after harassing and shoving a News Central crew member during Tuesday’s fire outbreak at Central Plaza, Mandilas, Lagos Island, has publicly apologised.
In a video, the man explained that he acted out of frustration after losing everything he had inside the plaza, including goods bought on credit.
“I pushed him because I was asking him to leave at that moment. All we needed then was the fire service to come and quench the fire, not journalists,” he said.
He admitted his behaviour was wrong and expressed regret, saying he would not hesitate to go down on his knees to apologise directly to the crew member involved.
