First Lady Launches Renewed Hope Initiative in Kogi, Empowers Women with ₦50,000 Grants


Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, has launched the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in Kogi State, a transformative program aimed at fostering economic empowerment among women.

 


The initiative, which took place on [insert date], saw 500 women in the state receive ₦50,000 each to support their small-scale businesses, marking a significant step toward financial independence and community development.


The launch event, held in Lokoja, the state capital, was attended by local government officials, community leaders, and hundreds of beneficiaries. Senator Tinubu, who spearheads the RHI as part of her commitment to uplifting Nigerian women, emphasized the importance of empowering women to drive economic growth and strengthen families.


“Women are the backbone of our communities, and by supporting their entrepreneurial spirit, we are building a stronger, more resilient Nigeria,” Senator Tinubu said during her address. 


“The Renewed Hope Initiative is designed to provide not just financial assistance but also hope and opportunities for women to thrive.”


The ₦50,000 grants are intended to help women start or expand small businesses, ranging from trading and agriculture to crafts and services. 


Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process, prioritizing women from underserved communities across Kogi State’s 21 local government areas. 


The initiative also includes plans for training and mentorship to ensure sustainable business growth.
