The Federal Government launched the Interior Electronic Records and Archival System (INTERAS), an Enterprise Content Management System aimed at advancing Nigeria’s digital governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision.
The launch, announced by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo via his X handle, was attended by Head of Civil Service Didi Esther Walson-Jack and senior officials from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
INTERAS replaces the Ministry of Interior’s outdated paper-based filing system, building on prior automation efforts such as digitized passport applications, visa processing, landing/exit cards, and CERPAC administration.
Tunji-Ojo praised his team, led by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani, for their dedication to the project’s success.
The Minister expressed confidence that INTERAS will enhance transparency and efficiency, stating, “I am optimistic that this system will be used judiciously to improve operations and better serve Nigerians.”
The initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing governance and improving service delivery across the country.
