Senior special adviser to the Muhammadu Buhari has gave explanation into the concessional rate of N197 to the dollar for the 2016 Hajj pilgrims.
A statement released by Mallam Shehu reads, "The exchange rate of N197:00 to a Dollar was approved by the President about three months ago, much earlier than the the new FOREX regime came into being".
The Chairman of the Hajj Commission has confirmed that it is non-discriminatory.
It was approved for Christian and Muslim pilgrimages for this year. The CBN has offered an explanation.

But not approved for students fees abroad. So unfortunate a government we brought upon ourselves. Back in Nigeria the school are nothing to write about. Religion should be an individual thing. It shouldn't be mixed with governance APC.

ReplyDeleteOf what economic importance is pilgrimage? People can't afford to eat let alone pay for bills because of forex fluctuations,this were not subsidized,its for travel and tourism? Hmmmm we have a goverment that just does not understand the plight of the people,yes maybe cos we enter the same market but with diffrent categories? Does my president know the cost of renting two bedrom flat?,how about comparing it to income from minimumwage. I bet we created enviroments that neccesiated the crazy race of wealth acumulation for unborn generations. Yes we did
