President Bola Tinubu has departed Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, for Port Harcourt in Rivers State, where he is scheduled to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) political rally.
The President’s move to Rivers forms the second leg of a two-state visit that began on Friday, November 6, 2026. In Uyo, Tinubu commissioned several infrastructure projects completed under Governor Umo Eno’s administration and participated in an APC rally at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Projects inaugurated included the new international terminal building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport, as well as the Airport-Okopedi Road, Ring Road 3, the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre, and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The Port Harcourt rally is Tinubu’s third major campaign outing since the APC formally flagged off its re-election mobilisation in Kaduna last month.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to engage party stakeholders, supporters and political leaders in the South-South region ahead of the 2027 general elections.
