Vice President Kashim Shettima and All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda led a high-profile presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion drew members of the APC National Working Committee, governors, and other party stakeholders. It also included the formal presentation of the party’s candidates for the upcoming polls.
In a statement shared on his X handle, Yilwatda described the large turnout as clear evidence of public confidence in the APC. “The excitement was palpable, the atmosphere electrifying, and the massive crowd that turned out to receive us was a powerful demonstration of the people’s enthusiasm, confidence and unwavering faith in the APC,” he said.
Yilwatda praised Tinubu as a performer and reformer whose policies are building the foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria. He highlighted federal infrastructure projects in the state, including the construction and rehabilitation of roads linking Ado-Ekiti to Akure, as proof of the government’s commitment to better transportation, economic growth, and improved living standards.
Defending the administration’s economic agenda, the APC chairman said ongoing tax reforms aim to shield low-income earners and small businesses from unnecessary tax burdens. He also pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which expands access to higher education and provides eligible students with a N20,000 monthly upkeep allowance.
“Ekiti has spoken through its enthusiasm. The message is unmistakable: the APC is ready, united and determined to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Yilwatda added.
The rally forms part of the APC’s broader nationwide mobilisation drive as the party seeks renewed mandates for Tinubu and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
