Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued four kidnapped victims during separate intelligence-led operations in Zamfara and Kebbi States, as the military intensifies efforts to curb terrorism and abductions across the North West.
According to the Army, the operations took place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. In Zamfara’s Maru Local Government Area, troops freed 25-year-old Mansur Shehu and 49-year-old Kadijat Haruna after responding to a terrorist attack on farmland near Binoni Marafa.
In Kebbi, soldiers launched a search-and-rescue mission following reports of suspected terrorists moving with abducted persons from Dupindu Village in Kanya District, Danko-Wasagu LGA.
The operation secured the release of Jimoh Su-Arege, 35, and Kalahe Danjuma, 41, who were later handed over to the Seriki of Dipindu.
The military said patrols and surveillance have been intensified across affected communities to strengthen security, deny criminals freedom of action, and restore peace.
“These successful operations highlight Operation Fansan Yamma’s sustained efforts to rescue abducted persons, disrupt terrorist activities, and reinforce stability across Zamfara and Kebbi States,” the Army stated.
