Former Imo State governor and serving senator, Rochas Okorocha, has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja.
The arrest, which took place on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the REIZ Continental Hotel, was said to be linked to allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation.
According to reports, law enforcement obtained a bench warrant after Okorocha allegedly failed to honour repeated invitations for interrogation.
The matter stems from a dispute over the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election results for Imo West.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had raised concerns about a document circulating under Okorocha’s name claiming he won the APC primary.
INEC, however, recognises Governor Hope Uzodimma as the legitimate candidate.Okorocha had previously dismissed claims of a court-issued arrest warrant, insisting that those making such allegations should provide documentary evidence.
