The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) for Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has refuted claims that he campaigned for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
The allegations were made by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), who accused the cleric of shifting from his criticism of Tinubu to offering prayers for his administration during a recent trip to Israel.
VDM alleged that Dachomo, who had travelled to Israel to raise awareness about attacks on Christians in Plateau and the Middle Belt, instead turned the visit into a prayer session for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He further claimed the cleric had been compromised by the presidency.Responding in a statement on his social media platforms, Rev. Dachomo dismissed the accusations as false and malicious.
He clarified that his prayers in Israel were focused on national peace, divine intervention against evil, and protection for persecuted communities.
“My dear brethren, I heard that VDM shared a video saying I prayed for President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket to succeed in the 2027 election. Which success? The success of rigging elections? I only prayed that evil plans against Nigeria fail,” Dachomo wrote.
He stressed that he had never supported the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, nor prayed for its success, and condemned attempts to use his name for political branding.
Dachomo reiterated his call for justice, fairness, and unity among Nigerians, insisting that his mission remains to defend the rights of persecuted communities and uphold truth.
