Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe has launched efforts to rally All Progressives Congress (APC) members and stakeholders across Oyo State in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the success of other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Tegbe began the statewide mobilisation in Ibadan on Sunday with strategic meetings involving party leaders, executives and community stakeholders from Ibadan South-East and Ibadan North Local Government Areas.
He called for greater unity and intensified grassroots engagement ahead of the polls.“We must take this mobilisation to every ward and polling unit across Oyo State. Our victory in 2027 will depend on our ability to unite our members, engage the people and convince them of the benefits of continuity under President Tinubu,” Tegbe said.
He argued that the President’s power sector reforms are starting to deliver improvements and expressed confidence that ongoing federal interventions will further enhance electricity supply and living standards.
“We will spare no effort to ensure that President Bola Tinubu gets re-elected in 2027, and we are not going to stop at that, as all the candidates of our great party will get our full backing,” the minister added.
Tegbe urged APC members in the state to set aside differences, close ranks and work together for electoral success.
Highlighting federal projects in Oyo, he announced plans for solar mini-grids in various locations and said electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa are nearing completion.
These initiatives, he said, aim to tackle long-standing power challenges and expand reliable electricity access, thereby boosting economic activities.
“Our commitment is not just about politics; it is also about delivering tangible benefits to the people,” Tegbe noted.
APC governorship candidate Sharafadeen Alli, who attended the meeting, expressed confidence in Tegbe’s ability to deliver on his mandate and called on party members to support the minister with prayers.
Other party leaders present also reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s mobilisation efforts for 2027.
