Oyebanji Appoints New Aides, Swears in SSG, CoS

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appointed four officials to key roles in the state’s power, road infrastructure and transportation sectors.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday evening by the Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode. They came just hours after the governor swore in the reappointed Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, and Chief of Staff, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo.

The new appointees are:

Philip Atere as Technical Advisor on Power Infrastructure

Tope Fatukasi as Technical Advisor on Road Infrastructure

Air Vice Marshal Sunday Makinde (retd) as Technical Advisor on Airport

Tajudeen Alingbolu as Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency

According to Oyebode, the appointments take immediate effect and reflect the strategic importance of these sectors to the administration’s development priorities.

At the swearing-in ceremony for the SSG and Chief of Staff, Governor Oyebanji stressed that his second-term government would accept nothing less than excellent service delivery. He urged the two officials to draw on the experience gained during his first term and begin delivering on their responsibilities without delay.

Oyebanji noted that their reappointment carried greater responsibility to serve both the government and the people of Ekiti State. He cautioned them against complacency, overconfidence or settling into comfort, emphasising that the second term demanded higher levels of diligence, discipline and accountability.

Describing Adubiaro and Adebayo as “steady hands” who had performed creditably as foundation appointees over the past four years, the governor said: “This reappointment is, therefore, proof that the reward for good work is more work. But I will be dishonest if I do not acknowledge that there are areas in need of improvement.“You, therefore, have no reason to grope around. The burden that comes with this, however, is that I will be less tolerant of lapses than I was in the first administration because you cannot claim inexperience again.”
