Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and APC House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on residents to mobilise massive support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obasa made the appeal on Wednesday during a mega rally at Amoo Field, Orile Agege, where the APC officially launched its campaign in the constituency.
Addressing supporters, he urged them to take the campaign beyond the rally grounds into households, markets, artisan groups, places of worship, and community associations.
“Let us join hands and make sure we deliver. It is not just about victory; we must surpass our previous votes. Sound it loud to everybody – all trade associations, artisans, tribes, religious and traditional leaders. We have the numbers, and we will pour it into the APC,” Obasa said.
He encouraged voters to back President Bola Tinubu, Lagos APC governorship candidate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule of Lagos West, and himself as the House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency.
The rally drew traditional rulers, religious leaders, trade associations, artisans, and representatives of non-Yoruba communities. Obasa described the turnout as proof of the APC’s strength and unity in Agege, urging members to remain focused despite criticism from opponents.
“There will always be detractors, but we will not listen to the din of the marketplace because no matter what you do, you will never be loved by the enemy,” he said, while appealing for peace throughout the campaign season.
Local APC leaders, including Agege chairman Alhaji Fatai Bisiriyu and Orile-Agege chairman Alaba Alashe, also rallied members to support all party candidates.
Agege Local Government Chairman AbdulGaniy Obasa and Orile-Agege Chairman Akinola Abiodun Idowu expressed confidence that APC candidates would deliver on their promises.
