Gov Adeleke’s Tinubu Campaign Role Won’t Secure Osun Victory — APM

The Osun State chapter of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) has dismissed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, insisting it will not guarantee victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Reacting to Adeleke’s inclusion in the revised list of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, APM State Chairman Wale Adebayo described the appointment as “inconsequential” to APC’s electoral chances.

According to Adebayo, Osun voters are politically sophisticated and will make independent decisions based on candidates’ performance and personal convictions rather than campaign council appointments.

He stated: “Osun people will vote according to their conscience, not because of whose name appears on a campaign list. Adeleke’s designation as coordinator does not translate into automatic support for the APC.”

The APM chairman expressed confidence that opposition parties remain competitive in the state, declaring that despite Adeleke’s new role, his party’s presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, would win Osun in the forthcoming general election.
