Suspected bandits have abducted Lamido Muhammad, Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, along with his two sons, Aliyu and Amir.
The attack occurred around midnight on Sunday when the assailants stormed Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, Abba area of Zaria.
The victims were taken to an undisclosed location, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
Sources said the incident has heightened fears among residents, who continue to grapple with persistent abductions in the region. As of Thursday, the abductors had not contacted the family to make demands or request ransom.
Community members have called on authorities to take decisive action to restore security, questioning how long families must live under the constant threat of kidnapping.
The incident adds to growing insecurity across Kaduna and the wider North-West, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted communities.
Efforts to reach Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone went unanswered.
