The Ondo State Government has announced plans to establish a youth call centre aimed at improving communication between the government and young people across the state.
The facility, to be known as the Ondo State Youth Call Centre, is designed to serve as a direct and accessible platform for youths in all 18 local government areas to engage with government authorities.
The initiative was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Youth and Social Inclusion, Comrade Henry Okunomo.
According to the statement, the call centre will enable young people to make enquiries, access information on employment and empowerment programmes, report challenges, lodge complaints, and communicate concerns directly to relevant government agencies.
Okunomo said the centre would also encourage greater youth participation in governance, promote social inclusion, and improve access to educational and entrepreneurial opportunities. He noted that special attention would be given to ensuring that youths in underserved and riverine communities have their voices heard.
The statement explained that the initiative is intended to bridge the communication gap between government and young people by creating a structured system for identifying, documenting and responding to youth-related issues.
It added that enquiries and complaints received through the platform would be referred to the appropriate Ministries, Departments and Agencies for prompt attention and resolution.
The government described the project as part of a broader effort to recognise young people not only as beneficiaries of public policies but also as key stakeholders in governance, development and social transformation.
“The youth call centre meets the 21st-century demand for rapid response and stronger collaboration in youth and social inclusion matters,” the statement said.
Details regarding the official launch, operational framework and communication channels for the centre will be announced in due course.
