Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Bola Tinubu of practicing what he described as “voodoo economics.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okonkwo alleged that the administration is manipulating economic figures to mask Nigeria’s worsening inflation.
He cautioned Nigerians against believing official claims from the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
“Whatever comes out of APC, don’t believe it. The more you look, the less you see. Inflation is not coming down at all,” Okonkwo said.He pointed to rising fuel prices, which have climbed from ₦1,100 to ₦1,500, arguing that such increases contradict government claims of falling inflation.
“What kind of voodoo economics is that when transport is at the root of everything?” he asked.
Okonkwo further accused the administration of “writing figures to cover up” poor performance, insisting that Nigerians are facing severe economic hardship despite official reassurances.
