Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the most comprehensive plan to transform Nigeria, more than any leader he has encountered in nearly four decades of politics.
Masari made the remarks in a video published by Hausa media platform HM Arewa, where he addressed a group of women at a public function in Kaduna.
He expressed unwavering support for Tinubu’s administration and his 2027 re-election bid.
“Even if I were asked to swear, on my age and my political involvement for almost 40 years, I can confidently say I have never seen a president with better plans to make Nigeria great than Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Masari said.
The former Katsina governor dismissed criticisms of Tinubu’s performance, noting that similar doubts were raised against past administrations, including those of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
He argued that detractors often fail to appreciate progress when it is being made.Masari also condemned the use of ethnic and religious sentiments in politics, urging women preachers to leverage their influence to discourage divisive rhetoric ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This divisive talk is only being pushed by people who are deeply selfish,” he added.
Masari, who served as Speaker from 2003 to 2007 and as Katsina governor from 2015 to 2023, was recently appointed Deputy Director-General, Parliamentary Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s 2027 bid.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential election for January 16, 2027.
