Tinubu Commends Security Forces After Rescue of Abducted NYSC Members in Kogi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Nigeria’s security agencies following the successful rescue of 21 abducted persons in Kogi State, including 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The victims, kidnapped last week, comprised eight males and 13 females. Six other Nigerians were also among those freed.

According to Tinubu, the rescue was carried out on Monday afternoon through a coordinated Search and Rescue (SAR) operation involving the military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilantes.

The operation led security personnel to the kidnappers’ hideout in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical care before being reunited with their families.

Tinubu confirmed that security forces remain in pursuit of the fleeing kidnappers.“While the abductees have been safely rescued, our gallant security forces are still on the trail of the routed kidnappers, in line with my directive to sustain the pressure on all criminal elements. Those responsible will face the full weight of the law,” Tinubu said.

He commended the courage of the SAR team and expressed gratitude to the families of the victims for their patience during the ordeal.

Tinubu assured parents of NYSC members that his administration remains committed to protecting lives and property across the country.
