Troops of the 152 Task Force Battalion in Banki, Borno State, have taken custody of a suspected terrorist who surrendered through the Chadian Defence Forces (CDF).
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development on his X handle, noting that the suspect, a male claiming to be from Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State, was handed over to Nigerian troops at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
According to reports, the handover was facilitated by the CM Intelligence Service of the Bargaram Division of the CDF. The suspect is now undergoing profiling, interrogation, and further procedures in line with military protocols.
Authorities say the move underscores ongoing cross-border cooperation and intelligence sharing among security forces in the Lake Chad Basin, aimed at strengthening regional efforts against insurgency.
