Peter Obi Attends Launch of Seyi Makinde’s APM Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), on Monday attended the official commissioning of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Headquarters of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Abuja.

Obi arrived at the venue in Wuse (Agadez Street, Wuse 2) around 12:20–12:31 p.m. The event marked the formal launch of the APM’s national campaign infrastructure ahead of the 2027 general elections and drew party leaders, political figures, candidates, and supporters.

APM National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle described the commissioning as the start of a “journey to reset Nigeria.”

He said the strong turnout reflected public demand for leadership rooted in competence, courage, compassion, and accountability, and presented the APM as an alternative platform based on integrity, sacrifice, and service.

Dantalle expressed confidence in Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential bid, citing his record of governance in the state, and highlighted the security experience of the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Daura.

He called for support for all APM candidates and voiced optimism about the party’s prospects in 2027, noting recent local government successes in Bauchi State as an early indicator.

Obi’s presence at the event has been interpreted by some observers as a possible signal of high-level engagement or partnership discussions between the two opposition platforms.

Further details on any remarks he may have made or the full proceedings were still emerging at the time of reporting.
