Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, has declared that securing 90 per cent of registered voters’ support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections is achievable.
Oluyede, who contested the June 20, 2026 governorship election as the PDP candidate, said the ambitious target would be pursued through aggressive grassroots mobilisation under his Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA).
In a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Monday, Oluyede urged members of the PDP, APC, and other political groups to unite behind Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing the 2027 polls as an opportunity to consolidate reforms and development.
“Nigeria cannot continue to start all over again every four years. If we have begun a process of reform, we must allow that process to mature and consolidate,” he said.
He pledged to work with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other stakeholders to achieve the 90 per cent target, stressing that OPARHA would take the campaign message to every household, ward, and community across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards.
Oluyede dismissed claims that he had abandoned politics after the governorship election, explaining that his two-week holiday was a period of rest and reflection.
He revealed that he had met with President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji during consultations, agreeing that cross-party collaboration was essential for Ekiti’s progress.
“The target is not merely about winning an election, but about building a political bridge among different groups in Ekiti and strengthening the relationship between the state and federal governments,” he added.
