Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has clarified that Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike is backing President Bola Tinubu personally, rather than the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Oshiomhole addressed tensions between Wike and some APC governors, following the minister’s remark describing certain governors as “politically lazy.”
The former Edo State governor explained that while Wike is not a member of the APC, he has consistently expressed support for President Tinubu’s leadership and re-election bid.
“Wike is supporting President Tinubu and not the APC. He has said so himself repeatedly that he is not an APC person, but he supports the President,” Oshiomhole stated.
He added that both Wike and APC governors share the same goal of backing Tinubu’s re-election, noting that there has been no indication of opposition from either side.
