Three passengers have died and ten others sustained serious injuries in a multiple-vehicle accident on the Long Bridge, opposite Mikano, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The crash, which occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Friday, involved a white Mazda bus (AGL891XX), a white Toyota bus (KJA247YM), and a white Toyota Corolla (BDG867HG).
According to Afolabi Odunsi, Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, a total of 16 people were involved—12 males and 4 females.
Ten victims, including nine men and one woman, were injured, while three women were confirmed dead.Odunsi explained that preliminary findings point to speed violation and loss of control as likely causes.
He noted that FRSC operatives arrived at the scene within six minutes of receiving the report, immediately launching rescue operations and managing traffic.
The injured were taken to AZ Hospital, Magboro, and the Accident and Emergency Centre, Ojota, while the deceased were evacuated to morgues in Ifo and Sagamu.
Sector Commander Oludare Ogunjobi extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
He urged motorists to avoid excessive speed, maintain control of their vehicles, and remain vigilant while driving on the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
