Enugu Air says it is set to strengthen regional connectivity with the introduction of direct flights from Enugu to Douala, Cameroon, on September 23.
Ugonna Agubuokwu, the chief operating officer (COO) of Enugu
Air, announced the development in a statement on Sunday.
He said the new route is aimed at bringing businesses,
families, and opportunities closer together.
“This is more than the introduction of a new route. It is
about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon, and making
regional travel more accessible, convenient and seamless for our passengers,”
he said.
Agubuokwu said the service will operate twice weekly, on
Mondays and Wednesdays, noting that passengers travelling from Lagos and Abuja
can connect to Douala through Enugu.
“Flights from Enugu are scheduled to depart at 12:45 p.m.,
arriving in Douala at 1:45 p.m,” Agubuokwu said.
“The return service will depart Douala at 2:30 p.m.,
arriving in Enugu at 3:30 p.m. The timing is such that passengers can connect
from Lagos and Abuja.
“For business, for opportunity, and for the connections that
matter, Africa is closer than you think.”
According to the statement, the new Enugu-Douala connection
further reinforces Enugu Air’s ambition to make regional travel simpler and
more connected.
On July 7, 2025, Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and
aerospace development, inaugurated Enugu Air, saying the airline will soon
commence regional flights to other African countries.
