Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East to unite and intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking through his deputy, Joel Oyibo, during a mobilisation tour for APC’s senatorial candidate Dr. Joseph Erico, Ododo reaffirmed the party’s readiness to secure victory across the district.
The tour covered Idah, Ejule, Anyigba, and Ankpa, culminating in a grand homecoming rally at Erico’s hometown, Etutekpe in Olamaboro Local Government Area.
The governor formally presented President Bola Tinubu, Erico, and three APC House of Representatives candidates to the people, stressing the importance of collective effort.
He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s confirmation of Erico’s candidacy had settled earlier disputes, describing his emergence as “a victory for the party” with no losers within APC ranks.
Dr. Erico, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to party members and constituents for their support during the primaries.
He pledged to provide effective representation, stating: “I will remain accessible to you and will work tirelessly to ensure that the voice and interests of Kogi East are properly represented at the National Assembly.
”He called on APC members across the three federal constituencies to sustain grassroots mobilisation, emphasising that unity and hard work would guarantee success in 2027.
The mobilisation train featured state lawmakers, commissioners, local government chairmen, and other APC stakeholders, underscoring the party’s determination to consolidate its base in Kogi East.
