National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has declared that the party will not merge into the G-100 opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, Dickson emphasized that the NDC will contest the polls under its own banner, while remaining open to collaboration with other parties.
“We are going to the election as NDC. If other parties and candidates support us, well and good, but we are working to win the election,” he said.
Dickson acknowledged the efforts of the G-100 coalition, describing them as “great Nigerians doing a great job.”
However, he insisted that the NDC has the “most exciting, vibrant, and balanced ticket” that resonates with Nigerians both at home and abroad.
He added that the party’s presidential candidate has already engaged with other political groups, including attending a recent rally of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), underscoring the NDC’s willingness to cooperate without losing its identity.
As political alliances continue to take shape ahead of 2027, Dickson’s remarks signal the NDC’s determination to remain a distinct force in the opposition landscape.
