The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed its state and Local Government Area chairmen to begin compiling and harmonising lists of party agents ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by National Publicity Secretary Osa Director, the party gave officials two weeks to submit the final lists for approval by the national leadership.
Director said the directive aligns with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026. State and LGA chairmen were instructed to immediately convene meetings with candidates and relevant stakeholders to collate and harmonise the agent lists.
Two separate sets of agents will be compiled: one for the National Assembly elections and another for the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.
The lists will be scrutinised and ratified by the party leadership, including the presidential candidate and running mate, before training begins.
Final lists must also be counter-signed by the state chairmen and the respective candidates to authenticate the nominations.
