President Bola Tinubu’s Political Adviser, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has downplayed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential ambition, describing it as unserious.
Speaking at an event organized by the Jigawa State Academics Forum, Masari said: “Even Atiku himself knows he is just joking and kidding.”
He argued that desperation cannot secure political power, stressing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains Nigeria’s dominant party.
Masari framed the 2027 elections as a choice between continuing Tinubu’s administration’s programmes or returning to the opposition.
He highlighted infrastructure development, economic diversification, security, and poverty reduction as key areas of focus for the government.
He also commended the Jigawa State Academics Forum for endorsing President Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for another term, insisting that APC’s leadership offers stability and progress.
