Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken aim at Bashir Ahmad, former presidential media aide, following comments Ahmad made about the upcoming Osun State governorship election.
The clash began after Davido posted on X celebrating President Bola Tinubu’s phone call with Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing himself as a witness to “history.”
Ahmad responded by bookmarking the post, predicting Davido would later lament the August 15 election outcome.Davido fired back, mocking Ahmad’s poor showing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries: “You got 16 votes, bro, in the primaries. STFU.”
He went further, accusing Ahmad of failing to improve his community during eight years in government. Davido contrasted his own global achievements, sold-out arenas, billions of streams, and worldwide influence with Ahmad’s limited political impact.
“You spent 8yrs with the ex-president and couldn’t make a change in your poverty-stricken community. We all have different trophies, Bashir. I’ll keep inspiring the young ones while you wait for the next government job to get crumbs,” Davido wrote.
The exchange has since stirred reactions online, highlighting the intersection of entertainment and politics in Nigeria’s public discourse.
