Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully thwarted an attempted abduction and rescued 14 kidnapped victims in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation, carried out Tuesday afternoon near Magazu Village, followed credible intelligence on the movement of armed attackers.
Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed in a post on X that the troops swiftly engaged the assailants, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and flee into the bushes.
A subsequent search of the area led to the rescue of 14 victims. One of them, who sustained gunshot wounds, was taken to General Hospital, Tsafe, for treatment.
No security personnel were injured during the mission.Bakatsine commended the troops for their courage and professionalism, noting that their timely intervention prevented the attackers from executing the planned abduction and ensured the victims’ freedom.
